We had an incredible stay at the Hotel Du Lac. The room was very spacious and clean overlooking Lake Como with magnificent views of the lake upon awakening in the morning and beautiful sunsets at night. The breakfast area was a beautiful room looking out at the lake with the most delicious selection of breads and pastries along with your typical breakfast items. We had dinner on our last evening at the hotel and the food and service was terrific. I loved how the ownership took advantage of utilizing the roof top bar 2 hours every evening to watch a magnificent sunset and get a chance to meet and greet other vacationers staying at the hotel. The staff was top shelf in every aspect regarding meeting any need or request. The young lady in the front office at check in and throughout our stay could not have been more wonderful. We utilized her recommendations on many occasions from restaurants to bike rentals and to sightseeing journeys!!! Luca and his son Danielo help create the personalized touch that separates Hotel Du Lac from the larger hotels on the lake!! Can’t wait to return!! *****

My cousin and I enjoyed 5 nights here. Aside from the nonstop rain and lack of sunshine, we had a PERFECT stay. We LOVE this wonderful, family-run hotel. Everyone is so kind, and helpful. Mr Giamluca was very helpful. He explained the ferry lines we needed to use to visit three close islands. Whenever we had a question, the staff member at reception was always able to help us. Esse senhor me avisou que eu tinha que pagar aproximadamente 250 euros, como não entendi o motivo desse valor pedi para ver antes de pagar a que se referia. Ele negou que eu visse antes de pagar. Solicitei pela segunda vez o descritivo do valor, ele foi grosseiro e se negou novamente (eu paguei sem saber o motivo!!). Minha filha consultou uma pessoa, muito gentil, que tinha acabado de chegar. Ela verificou que ele estava cobrando erroneamente coisas referente ao apto 8 e não do nosso apto que era o 18. (3 andar)

My fiance and I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Du Lac. The staff at the reception were extremely kind and we were blown away when we received an upgraded room after we let the staff know we were there celebrating our engagement. The balcony room overlooking the lake was stunning and was one of the key highlights of our trip! We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends for future trips and hope to return ourselves sometime soon.

It has been a few years since staying here. Hotel du Lac is our most favorite hotel in Bellagio. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor. Our room was perfect, being on the top floor with easy access to the balcony. I highly recommend the Hotel du Lac!!

Complaint: Sorry I misread the title A gentleman working at the breakfast buffet was quite rude when we arrived as the buffet was closing. He actually pushed ahead of me to turn off the coffee/ hot water machine and raised his voice, yelling Fini and grabbing the food quickly so we could not take something from the buffet. It was honestly shocking and left a very bad taste in our mouth. Other than his behavior, the staff was lovely and helpful. I did tell him that I found his behavior rude and the food that was left would likely be thrown away and he yelled go to the restaurant! And actually was laughing. I could see the woman working was uncomfortable by his rude behavior. We were unable to use the appertif and have a drink two different nights as I guess there is a limit to how many people can be served at a time. This was not so clear to us.

I would highly recommend Hotel Du Lac to anyone traveling to Bellagio. I thought the front desk and the housekeeping staff, as well as the rooftop bar staff were courteous, friendly and so accommodating. When my husband left his iPad in the room after we checked out. They went to heroic measures to get it on the next ferry to Varenna so that we could pick it up from there before we got our train to Milan. They truly went above and beyond and we’re just best. However, I would recommend with some caveats. See below.

Hotel du Lac is a phenomenal hotel. We come to Italy 3 times a year for the last 10 years and stay at many hotels in Italy. Sara Bardinelli was superb in communicating with me regarding room availability and was very sweet and kind. I am sorry that we did not meet her in person Graziano at the front desk also tropo gentile. He escorted us to the room, welcomed us to the hotel and explained to us how to navigate Bellagio. The kindest person to us in the hotel was Shamila (Jamilia) our chambermaid from Argentina. We stayed on the piano 4. Every morning she said hello. Every day she cleaned our room impeccably. The bathroom was immaculate and no dust anywhere. She is an asset to your hotel and was always smiling doing her job. We want to return to Hotel du Lac because of these personnel, its location, and its cleanliness.

My only thing that could be improved is breakfast they need a staff member assisting people with the coffee machine etc the amount of people struggling to use it was alot . Other hotels I went to offered a service that make the coffee which is more user friendly in my opinion. Other than that the hotel was exceptional and I highly recommended it to everyone. My only complaint is that our party of four wanted to have dessert without dinner at the second floor restaurant and after we were seated on Saturday night we were told they would not let us order dessert if we did not have dinner. The restaurant was basically empty. The dessert menu at the first floor restaurant was different than the second floor restaurant. The staff at the desk was absolutely fantastic during our stay, going above and beyond my expectations.

Special thanks to the reception for help when there was a sudden train strike on the day of our check out; the helpful staff advised us on how to get to Lecco by bus (after they tried to catch a taxi for us) in order for us to catch a train in Milan.

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Du Lac in Ballagio!! We were in room #5, which was renovated very recently; they did a superb job making it very comfortable with a wonderful balcony to sit out on and enjoy and beautiful views of Lake Como. We enjoyed it so much, we have even talked about planning another trip to stay there again. The staff were friendly, professional and informative - Thank-You for making our stay a highlight of our European vacation!!

Hotel Du Lac was our favorite stay on our honeymoon. The location was absolutely perfect, directly in front of the ferry station into Bellagio. One of our favorite parts of our trip was approaching Bellagio in the ferry and seeing that our hotel was right in front of us as we docked, it was truly magical! The panoramic views this hotel offers are priceless & breathtaking. In addition, the service was incredible — we were offered free access to the spa with our room & the hotel staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. The free breakfast also had the best selection of any hotel we stayed at on our 2 week trip to Italy. The views from breakfast were beautiful. Overall, 10/10 experience.

We want to thank the staff to include Janine, that went above and beyond to make sure we got a computer charger that we forgot in one of the rooms, we received the charger in Milan, which was shipped at their expense, from the moment we arrived they had our rooms ready, this was three hours before schedule check in time, and they were super helpful tending to any and all of our needs, we will definitely be staying here every time we come back to Rome. We stayed at Hotel du Lac for 5 nights and found it to be a great value for our money. The location in Bellagio is perfectly situated on the main promenade by Lake Como so no climbing up steps was required to get into/out of the hotel (especially important when traveling with heavy luggage) and steps away from one of the ferries. The owner’s son, Daniel, was very helpful, professional and friendly as were the other reception staff. Their new spa was fabulous and was complementary - hot tub, sauna, steam room, hot/cold shower and lounge area; a luxurious robe and slippers were provided for spa use during our stay. The large rooftop area was available 24/7 with a beautiful view and a Happy Hour every evening from 1900-2100 to purchase beverages and mingle with other guests. The complementary breakfast buffet was located in a room with large windows that were opened up for fresh air and a fabulous view of Lake Como. We had an issue with a broken desk which was repaired almost immediately after we reported it after checking into our room. Our room had a small balcony with 2 chairs overlooking one of the streets with a partial view of the lake; bathroom had a bidet. We loved staying at Hotel du Lac and we would definitely return.

We’ve just returned from a short stay at Hotel Du Lac. Its location enjoys a premium spot on the main thoroughfare where the boats come in and is the perfect place for people-watching. Our room, although not big (not that we needed one), was very clean with a super king bed which was so comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities was a nice little bonus. The staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. Each evening we had drinks on the terrace whilst the sun set behind the mountains. What a view!! Would we come back…. absolutely!

We had a great time staying in Hotel du Lac. Right from the start, staff were amazing and could not have been more courteous or helpful. Especially the reception staff and in particular Graziano. You could really tell it’s a family run hotel and their ethos is doing everything they can to enable them to have the best stay in Bellagio. I really appreciated having the tickets booked for Villa Balbianello and vegan yogurt, soya milk and pastries for breakfast. Also being able to have soya milk in the fridge in the room was much appreciated.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Lake Como, made even more special by the food,cleanliness, facilities and especially the staff at Hotel Du Lac, Ballagio. The staff on reception were extremely pleasant, friendly,helpful and knowledgeable, giving us advice on things to do and how to get to the places we wanted to visit. The restaurant and bar staff were equally as good, it was so nice to go down to a delicious breakfast each morning and be greeted by smiley, friendly faces and enjoy the first meal of the day with a lake view. The roof terrace again had spectacular views and the bar staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortably seated and again were really friendly and pleasant, drinks were always served with a smile. We would have no hesitation in returning to this wonderful hotel in a wonderful setting overlooking the lake.

How lovely to have a full size bottle of body lotion, I used it twice daily after my showers, still plenty left in the bottle. Also liquid soap is much preferred to silly little soap bars. As returning guests we really appreciate the complimentary Prosecco left in our room.

This hotel was INCREDIBLE and the staff was AMAZING!!! However the reason we marked negative on some of the staff was the older female bartend was AWFUL! If I didn’t meet her, this would be a 10/10 review for everything. (Still would be a 9/10 review, even with the awful bartender… however her attitude reflects very poorly on the AMAZING hotel) but our two interactions with her were some of the worst customer service I have ever seen displayed. If you hate your job, quit. Other than that, this was one of my favorite hotels and favorite places in the entire world. I also should note the other 5-6 employee interactions we had were TOP notch and incredible. Overall, I think you guys have terrific employees with one bad apple. As I small business owner myself, I would want to know if a single employee was lowing my brand standards.

Bit of a confusion between 1st floor restaurant/ roof bar and downstairs street restaurant. We were half board and we got a little tired of the street restaurant menu. Only allowed to eat upstairs when the weather was poor, we felt a bit like second class resident's. Would have been happy to pay extra for a wider choice on the menu from upstairs. Lovely staff throughout the hotel.

Das Personal war sehr unterschiedlich motiviert, es haben nicht alle gesprochen beim Servieren und es hat am Anfang sehr öange gedauert, bis wir Menükarten bekommen haben. Das Tartar war sehr gut, die warmen Speisen leider nur durchschnittlich. Es fehlte an Geschmack und es war nicht schön angerichtet.

The noise and partying scene in the evening was loud and unpleasant making it difficult to relax or enjoy our balcony. The food on breakfast buffet was the worst we had in our 3 week stay. The coffee was awful and tasted burnt. Coffee machine very slow so long lines for terrible coffee.

This is a great place! We are coming here for the last 7 years. Except 2023, when we tried to book the hotel was already fully booked for the dates we had available. Can only recommend this family run business. It is a great place, right by the docking area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Air con and wifi were great, beds comfy, bathroom big with good water pressure, rooms spacious and super quiet - perfect. Reception staff were amazing - helping us get back to Milan in a much quicker and less expensive way than our travel agent suggested. Went to Varenna instead of Como for train - much better idea. We hired the pushbikes and rode around Como and to Lezzeno - fabulous day. All staff very helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay 🙏❤️

It's obvious that the staff care about the quality of their service and about the perception of the hotel as a whole. This was obvious even before a staff member went above and beyond to find us emergency transportation after our hired car did not arrive to take us to the airport, going so far as to take us in his personal car to meet a new taxi. We could not have asked for a better experience at Hotel Du Lac. We loved the hotel, but the staff were what made the stay so special, going out of their way to be accommodating, offer suggestions and recommendations, and also offer assistance to us when we were left in a transportation predicament, going above and beyond to help us out. Daniele personally drove us to meet a taxi that could take us to the airport, and we will forever be grateful to him and the staff! We can't wait to return to Hotel Du Lac!

The chilled bottle of Prosecco in our room for my birthday and postcard with birthday wishes was lovely. No other hotel we stayed at did that. That was impressive. Brava!

Overall we had a wonderful time at Hotel du Lac and will recommend it to friends going to Bellagio, Our room was very nice and my wife really loved the bottle of sparkling wine (cuvee 21) waiting for us in our room in celebration of her birthday. This is an excellent hotel We booked the same hotel as before in 2020 so we knew what to expect. The spa area downstairs is very smart. The staff are all excellent. Daniel is a nice chap. Next time im Bellagio we will return to HDL

Votre hôtel est exceptionnel de l’emplacement au personnel extrêmement gentil . Nous avions oublié nos maillots pour le Spa! Nous avons même eu une chambre avec vue sur la ruelle et un petit balcon avec une petite vue sur le lac: FORMIDABLE!!! Nous attendons avec impatience de revenir . Nous ne pourrons aller nulle part ailleurs !

We had a wonderful stay in Bellagio at the Hotel Du Lac. Parking as would be expected was a little difficult but do able. The staff was most helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was wonderful. Terrace view was superb. We will stay here again if ever back to Lake Como.
