Exceptional hotel. Rooms, service and location were perfect. Dinner at Rubacuori was our best meal in Milan / Italy this trip (and we visited numerous Michelin restaurants). The bar menu and service was excellent and I really appreciated the live music - both the pianist and the harpist. I didnt receive any welcome emails or contact prior to arriving - that would have been nice. The furnishings and quirky touches were wonderful. The breakfast was better than advertised on the British Airways website as it included full hot options as well. The check in on arrival was personal, high quality and very welcoming.

We had initially been assigned a suite without windows, and due to my claustrophobia, this situation was very difficult for me. There was not one single drawer in the room. One pays 600 Euros per night and then you need to leave your clothes on the sofa, for that reason alone we will not be coming back. It's disrespectful. Beyond that, the room and hotel is underwhelming compared to the impresison created on the website. I actually think you should have a website that is more faithful to the actual feeling one has when live at the hotel to avoid disappointing your guests that much.

During breakfast, the woman working in the restaurant ( I didn't get her name), went out of her way to assist me and she and other staff members assisted me in bringing food to my room for my travel friend who was not well.

Furthermore, croissants were not good, eggs benedict although with surcharge was one of the worst I ever had - shamefully small portion (one egg?), watery and with no taste. In addition, I was requested to sign the surcharge immediately when it came on the table (???) - so instead to enjoy it while it is hot I need to deal with paperwork, as a hotel guest - a little bit inappropriate. Fresh orange jus tastes like supermarket one.

As with every hotel, there are bumps and I was shown to the wrong room initially. This does not matter - what matters is how these bumps are handled. This was probably one of my best hotel stays ever. The staff from reception, cleaning, hotel bar and breakfast were all fantastic. My flight was cancelled at the end of my stay and they quickly managed to organise the last room availabe in the hotel at short notice. When we got home we found out that night that air traffic control had an issue, causing 320 flights to be cancelled, so saved me from a bigger problem. Excellent location outside the Tricolore M4 metro, quick access to Linate Airport, city centre, transport links and sights. We used the hotel as base to visit other nearby Milan attractions i.e. Lake Como and Verona. There are a good selection of food in the hotel and a great range of restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend staying here for your trips to Milan and surrounding area. Thank you to the Staff at Chateau Monfort for making our stay so enjoyable and being there when we needed them.

A big thank you to the manager and staff, who were all very kind and attentive. The concierge asked us what brought us to Italy and we mentioned that we were in Milan for the opening of our daughter's art show at one of the galleries and that we had spent the previous week touring Italy to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We were so surprised and delighted when the manager sent a bottle of champagne to our room as a gift to further celebrate our trip - it was totally unexpected and very gratefully received! Thank you, it was the proverbial icing on the cake to a wonderful Italian vacation!

The deluxe room we were given did not have a shower. I would not stay in that room again and would not choose to stay in the hotel unless the room provided had a shower.
