Wir mussten bei der Abreise um 5.30 Uhr auschecken und hatten dies am Abend zuvor angekündigt. Wir vermuten, dass der ältere nette Herr der Hotel-Chef war, der uns den frühen checkout problemlos zusagt und nicht nur das, wir bekamen von ihm noch eine großzügig gepackte Lunchbox mit! Das war soo liebenswert und freundlich! So brauchten wir uns am Flughafen nichts mehr kaufen.

The temperature was very cool, exactly what is needed after hot summer days (the hottest we had was 39°). The shower was really nice and stayed perfectly consistent, a lot of the hotels we have tried the shower would drop in temperature constantly but at La Fortezza we never experienced any inconsistency. The cleaning team was brilliant and anything we used was replaced while we were out and about.

The room (superior double) was absolutely first class. Modern, crisp styling, a fantastic comfortable bed, great air conditioning (a must) and a superb bathroom with fantastic walk in shower! Hotel La Fortezza is situated in an ideal, peaceful location just outside Florence city centre but just a 5 minutes stroll from the tram stop for the journey to/from the airport and 10 minutes from the main train station and bus terminal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable. We did have to turn off the air conditioning because we couldn't work out how to control the room temperature. Breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice. All the city centre attractions are within easy walking distance.

There was plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet and it was set out beautifully. When we needed help with the lights and the safe , a staff member came and helped us. From the start, Raffaello made us feel like family. We arrived late and hungry. He suggested a local dining spot called Clarinetto. They require reservations however, Raffaello knew the owner and set us up for a fantastic meal for 4. The hotel is newly remodeled in a neo-classical style with a clean modern look. The breakfast is superb. The chef makes some very special assortment of artisanal food. We will definitely stay again in the future, and this time we will book directly through Hotel La Fortezza.

The receptionist Elisabeth was very welcoming and helpful. She was willing to try help us call the post office to follow up on our letter delivery (although the post office didn't pick up). She then helped us with direction to get to the post office.

The hotel is in an excellent location near to the tram station and inky a 15 minute walk into the city centre. The staff were all lovely especially Elisabeth who went out of her way to help us. The room was very clean and comfortable.

It is well placed on the outskirts of the city an easy 20 minute walk into the city. It's neat transport to the station or the city. It was very clean Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice of cold and hot food.kitchen staff were very good. We had a lovely large comfortable bed It was good there was a safe and a fridge in the room and tea,coffee making facilities but ceramic cups would be good. Some of the reception staff were very helpful

Breakfast was fantastic. I am vegan and have been used to dry toast with ham at most hotels. To have some vegan croissants made was unexpected and really made my day! On the second day, staff went above and beyond by also bringing me vegan yogurt. So attentive and helpful! The breakfast staff were outstanding.

Location is good, very helpful staff, small hotel which is nice 👌, very clean with good facilities. I did miss not having bedside drawer but this is just my preference it wasn’t a problem. The local honey was amazing 🤩 I had some every morning .

We enjoyed five wonderful nights in Hotel la Fortezza. In spite of being near to Reception our room was quiet. It was also excellently designed and the décor was imaginative and in excellent condition. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned every day to a good standard. The reception staff were, without exception, only too happy to help us out, speak very good English, booked a taxi for our early departure and organised a take away breakfast without any fuss. We cannot recommend Hotel La Fortezza highly enough.
